A Christ-Centered Easter
This book was the most helpful in giving me ideas of how to celebrate Easter more fully.
I highly recommend this book, even if you don't agree with everything or do everything. Use it as an starting point.

24-Day Advent Calendar
Count down to Easter with this Prophecies of the Messiah Activity. There are 24 prophecies. 6 of them are of Jesus' birth, so if you want to skip those you can and have a 18-day calendar. Because I have two children, we have done it as a 12-day calendar, each of them doing one prophecy a day.
Easter 2012 starts on March 15 for the 24 day calendar, March 21 for the 18 day calendar.
Easter 2013: 24 -day, March 7; 18-day, March 13; 12-day, March 19
Easter 2014: 24-day, March 27; 18-day, April 2; 12-day, April 8
Adventcalendar files 1 and 2 are the prophecies. Adventcalendar files 3-5 are the scriptures. The scripture on the top is the prophecy, the one on the bottom is the fulfilling of the prophecy. The eggs marked with * are prophecies of Jesus' birth.
Here is what I did:
I printed out files 1 and 2 and cut out the eggs. I glued them to a file folder with some green construction paper cut to look like grass. I had it laminated so we can use it for more than one year.
Next I printed files 3,4, and 5. I didn't have color ink, so I ended up coloring mine. Hopefully you can skip that step. I cut them in half so each scripture was half of an egg. I also had those laminated.
It is a matching game of sorts. Every day we read two scriptures, the prophecy and the fulfillment. They find the egg in the grass that talks about that prophecy, and each attaches their half of the scripture egg.

One Week Countdown Calendar
Here is an activity for Easter week. Print out the calendar, pictures, and egg fillers. Fill each egg with the picture/candy and description of the day. Each day before Easter open the eggs and add egg fillers to the calendar. To do Friday - Easter Sunday, go to the Easter Tomb page and build a tomb!
